I-86 Bridge T Close Overnight Sept. 5-6

The state Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 over Chautauqua Lake between North Harmony and Ellery will be closed to traffic in both directions from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, to 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, to facilitate an ongoing rehabilitation project. Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing Route 394 and Route 430. Work could be postponed depending on weather conditions.

Fluvanna Free Library To Host Emergency

FLUVANNA – The Fluvanna Free Library will offer two free Grab and Go Binder workshops in September. The binders, also known as Emergency Binders or In Case of Death Binders, help individuals organize essential documents for quick access during emergencies or evacuations. The workshops will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m., and Thursday, Sept. 11, at 3 p.m. at the Fluvanna Free Library. Participants will learn how to identify and compile important records into a secure, portable binder or tote. The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Chautauqua Cruiser Car Club To Host Picnic Sept. 14

WESTFIELD – The Chautauqua Cruiser Car Club is inviting new or prospective car enthusiasts to join for the club’s end of summer picnic at 1 p.m. Sept. 14 at 7607 North Gale Road, Westfield. Pre-Licensing Course Sept. 15

FREWSBURG – A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be offered at Frewsburg High School on Monday, Sept. 15, from 5 to 10 p.m. The cost is $30. Pre-register by emailing rhair@frewsburgcsd.org – include a picture of the students’ learner’s permit – or by calling 716-569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. When calling, make sure to have the student’s learner’s permit on hand.
