Fluvanna Free Library To Host Spaghetti Dinner

FLUVANNA – The Fluvanna Free Library will host a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fluvanna Fire Hall, 3536 Fluvanna Ave. Dinner includes salad, spaghetti and meatballs, bread and butter, dessert, and a beverage. Meals are available for dine in or take out. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $7 for children age 10 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door, in advance from any Fluvanna Free Library board member or volunteer, or at the library during business hours. Library hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Falconer Village Board To Meet Sept. 8

FALCONER – The Falconer Village Board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, Fire Exempts Hall, 3 Coleson Drive. The public is welcome to attend.

Christian Women’s Group To Meet Sept. 9

Jamestown-Warren Christian Women Village Mission Country Partners will meet at noon Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Praise Fellowship Church, Russell. Spiritual guest is Kathy Joy Hoffer of Erie speaking on “Desperate Choices and Merciful Outcomes.” Music is by Jeremy Earnheardt of Warren. Lunch is $7. The group is collecting new socks for veterans through November for local and Blue Star mothers overseas Christmas packages. Call Nancy Schuyler at 716-294-3071 for reservations. IDA Board To Hold Special Meeting Sept. 11

The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency board will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, in the BWB Building, second floor board room, 201 W. Third St., Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend. The meeting will also be live streamed on Youtube at www.youtube.com/@ChooseCHQ.

Valley Historical Society To Host Cruise-In

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Valley Historical Society is holding a cruise-in for cars, trucks, motorcycles and farm tractors on Saturday, Sept. 13, on the Community Building lawn. Times are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Door prizes and trophies to be given. For more information call Dean Houser at 716-962-9105. The society is also looking for participants in the History Fair parade at 10 a.m. Sept. 13. Line-up begins at 9 a.m. at the Sinclairville Elementary School. Rotary Club To Begin Project Christmas Card

Linda Dunn, chairperson of the Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club, is heading up the holiday initiative, “Project Christmas Card.” The club is in need of unused Christmas cards that can be dropped off at the circulation desk at the Patterson Library in Westfield. They are ready to accept donations on the club’s behalf. Each year the club delivers member-signed Christmas cards to nearly 2,000 shut-ins, senior citizens and veterans at VA hospitals.
