TEA Party Patriots Meet Tuesday

The monthly meeting of the Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots will be on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at 1309 Norby Road, Jamestown. A representative from the Chautauqua Lake Property Owners Association (CLPOA) will be speaking about issues regarding the condition of the lake this season and the status in the legal process of the lawsuits that seek to overturn the state’s 2022 revisions to the Freshwater Wetlands Act. In addition, attendees will be asked to provide questions regarding program and policy changes, the ongoing budget process, and other federal level topics.

Busti Gazebo Concert Series Saturday

BUSTI – The Busti Gazebo Concert Series presents the Kokomo Time Band from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23. The band features music from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s including The Beach Boys, The Beatles and Elvis. Bring a lawn chair for seating.

JHS Class Of 1970 To Host Reunion In September

The Jamestown High School Class of 1970 will hold its 55th reunion Sept. 22-23. There will be an informal get-together on Monday, Sept. 22, at the Southern Tier Brewery in Lakewood from 4 to 7 p.m.. On Sept. 23, class members will meet for dinner at the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel, 10 Dunham Ave., Celoron, with a cash bar, music and appetizers at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m. The cost is $55 per person, and reservations are required by Sept. 1. Payment is due by Sept. 8. Checks must be mailed by Sept. 8 and can be made out to “Class of 1970” and mailed to Tom Lundquist, 2181 Jamieson Ave., Unit 1505, Alexandria, VA 22314.

Dawson Metal Awards Scholarships

Dawson Metal recently awarded several scholarships to area students. They include: Sydney Dawson, daughter of Bo Dawson, who will be attending SUNY Oswego to study teaching; Nickola Whitford, daughter of Nickolas Whitford, who will attend Alfred State to study culinary arts; Skyela Banse-Fay, daughter of Michael and Angela Galati, who will attend SUNY Fredonia to continue studying marine biology/marine science; Jerzie Smith, daughter of Tabatha Smith, attending JCC for a second year and working toward earning her associate’s degree in occupational therapy; and Hudson Dawson, son of Bo Dawson, returning to Virginia Commonwealth University to continue his studies in mental health counseling.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church Chicken BBQ Aug. 28

FALCONER – Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Falconer will be hosting a chicken barbecue on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 4:30 p.m. until sold out. The meal includes a half chicken, macaroni salad, applesauce, roll and dessert. The price is $15. Presale tickets are appreciated. Tickets are available Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon and Monday and Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. The church is located at 20 North Phetteplace Street, Falconer.
