Ellington Library To Host Balloon Workshop Aug. 23

ELLINGTON – The Ellington Farman Library is hosting a professional balloon workshop, open to the community, on at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23. The workshop, titled “Cris Johnson’s Balloon Twisting Workshop,” is being used as part of the library’s efforts to encourage children to visit their local library during the summer and participate in all the events available to them. The library provides all of the materials for children and young adults to learn how to make several different balloon animals. The workshop is intended for ages 8 to 15 as well as any curious adults. “This particular program is something different,” Johnson said. “The workshop teaches kids how to make different balloon sculptures and also anything creative they want to do. I’ve been creating and presenting themed shows to libraries and schools all across North America for nearly 20 years and it’s a passion of mine. The library located at 760 Thornton Road, Ellington, and is intended for ages 8 and up. Children below the age of 7 are not encouraged to attend because of the complexity of the material. Admission is free, seating availability permitting.
