Drumming Wednesday

CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga Library Branch will host family drumming from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, led by Janine Chimera in the backyard of the library.

Bandshell

Concert Series Ends Tonight

The Allen Park Bandshell concert series ends at 7 p.m. tonight, Aug. 6, with a performance by the Jamestown Municipal Band. The music theme of Seasons of Sound will be featured. Concessions will be available for sale at the top of the hill by the Allen Park Women’s Club with proceeds used to benefit the park. A drive-through chicken barbecue will be held in the park on Aug. 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the former Allen Park Ice Arena with tickets available from the concession stand or any Allen Park Women’s Club member.

Celoron Boat Launch Closed Friday, Saturday

CELORON – The public boat launch on Dunham Avenue in Celoron will be closed on Friday, Aug. 8, and Saturday, Aug. 9, for the Dragon Boat Race taking place on Chautauqua Lake in the village.

Busti Gazebo Concert

Series Continues Saturday

BUSTI – The Busti Gazebo Concert presents Happy Days performing Saturday, Aug. 9. The concert will feature the sounds of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s performed by Gabriel (Ross) Giuffre on the keyboard and Mary Giuffre on drums. Happy Days performs music of the Blues Brothers, Michael Jackson, Tom Jones and Tina Turner, among others. The concert takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a lawn chair for seating. Sponsors are the Busti Hamlet Development Association and the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.

Fenton To Host Hidden Alley Walking Tour Saturday

Jamestown’s Hidden Alleys walking tour will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, at 10:30 a.m. Participants will tour five of the earliest alleys and learn about the remaining alleys. Alleys have been hidden in the background of Jamestown’s everyday business from the village’s beginning. What was their purpose? How did they get their names? What are they used for now? Learn the answers to these questions and much more on the tour. Fenton History Center volunteer Cindy Dustin will lead the tour. The tour begins at the Fenton History Center. The tour is two hours long; participants should dress appropriately and wear comfortable walking shoes. The fee is $12 for potential members and $8 for Fenton History Center members.
