To Hike Sunday
On Sunday, Aug. 3, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike on Creek Road along Tionesta Creek near New Town. This will be a 2 mile hike in and then out, level. The group will meet at Musante Street, Warren, at 1 p.m. Jim and Kim Berkey are the leaders for the activity.
Falconer Library To Host Book Sale Aug. 7-9
FALCONER – The 77th annual book sale at the Falconer Public Library will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, and Friday, Aug. 8, as well as 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 9. There will be adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction books as well as DVDs, CDs and puzzles available for purchase. All proceeds from the sale will go towards the purchase of new materials for the library. The library is located at 101 W. Main St. in Falconer. For more information, call 665-3504.
ILS Veterans Club To Serve Sam Boscia

Dinners Aug. 9
The ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Avenue, Jamestown, will welcome Sam Boscia, who will be serving spaghetti and meatballs dinners at the post on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. or until gone. The cost of the dinner is $12 for adults and $7 for children and dinners will include salad and bread. Take-out dinners are available. The dinner is open to the public. The post will open at 3 p.m.

Village Missions Country Partners Jamestown-Warren Christian Women will meet at noon Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Praise Fellowship Church, Russell. Guest speaker will be Jody Terhune of Jamestown and music is by Jeremy Earnheardt of Warren. Bring a $1 brown bag item for exchange. Lunch is $7. Panama To Offer Lunch, Breakfast At No Charge
PANAMA – The Panama Central School District has amended its policy for serving meals for children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2025-26 school year, which would allow for all children at all schools/sites to be served meals at no charge. Effective July 1, 2025, New York State schools participating in the National School Lunch Program and/or School Breakfast Program will offer reimbursable meals to students at no cost.

MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens will meet Aug. 14. The speaker will be Michelle Henry, a research historian for the state Parks Department who will speak about Annie Oakley’s connection to Chautauqua County.
