Fluvanna Library To Host Harness Racing Program Saturday

FLUVANNA – The Fluvanna Free Library will host the program Harness Racing: The Sport of Farmers on Saturday, July 26, at 11 a.m. Tina Scherman from the Leon Historical Society will discuss the history of harness racing from its beginnings in the Hudson River Valley to its heyday at local racetracks. Panama School Board To Hold Special Meeting Monday

PANAMA – A special meeting of the Panama Central School Board of Education will take place Monday, July 28, at 6 p.m. in the school auditorium to appoint a new school superintendent. The public is welcome to attend.

Jamestown School Board Reschedules July 29 Meeting

Due to a lack of quorum, the Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 29, has been rescheduled to Monday, July 28, at 6 p.m. in the boardroom of the administration building. The public is welcome to attend.

Lakewood Library To Host Wild Creatures Event July 29

LAKEWOOD – Meet creatures of the world with Wild Creatures at the Lakewood Memorial Library on Tuesday, July 29, from 11 a.m. to noon as part of the library’s Color Our World summer reading program. This event is designed for children 12 years and under and is free of charge. No registration is required.

Host First

Sunday Story Time Aug. 3

The Audubon Community Nature Center will hold its next First Sunday Story Time from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Aug. 3. Doors open at 12:20 p.m. The center opens to the public at 1 p.m., with the program and Sunday admission both free. Reservations for story time are requested by Saturday, Aug. 2. To reserve a space, call the Nature Center at 716-569-2345 or go to AudubonCNC.org/events. Participation is limited to 15. Walk-ins are welcome if there is room.

Vacation Bible School Begin Aug. 4
