Frewsburg School Board To Hold Special Meeting Today

FREWSBURG – The Frewsburg Central School District Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. today, June 27, in the multi-purpose room at the Frewsburg Central Middle School/ High School, 26 Institute St, Frewsburg. It is anticipated the Board will enter into executive session.

Outdoor Club To Ride, Hike Along Clarion River

On Sunday, June 29, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride bikes or hike along River Road between Halton and Belltown along the Clarion river. The mountain laurel and the wild rhododendron may be in bloom. The ride will be on a public road so wear bright colored clothing, It should be relatively level. Meet at Musante Street in Warren at 1:30 p.m. to carpool to Halton boat launch. Greg Burkett will be the leader of this activity.

Sincliarville Library Closed July 4-5

The Sinclairville Free Library will be closed on Friday, July 4, and Saturday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day. The library will reopen at 2 p.m. Monday, July 7. St. Luke’s Thrift Shop Starts

Clearance Sale

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, has started its summer clearance sale. The shop’s ladies department has half off prices on all dresses, shoes, plus-sized clothing, capris, shorts and all tops. Ladies shorts, pants and jeans are $1. The men’s department has light jackets and select XXL t-shirts for $1. The houseware and children’s departments are well stocked. The shop is open for sales Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations are accepted Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. All proceeds are used for outreach in the local community.

CHRIC Awarded Federal Grant

U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy announced a $105,000 federal grant from NeighborWorks America to Arbor Housing and Development in Corning and the Chautauqua Home Rehabilitation and Improvement Corporation. The grant funding will catalyze efforts to lower the cost of housing and expand the nation’s housing supply, support vibrant economic opportunities, revitalize, and sustain neighborhoods to build stronger and safer communities, and create jobs in the region. “I’m proud to announce yet another NeighborWorks grant which will create jobs in our district while expanding housing supply in the area,” said Langworthy. “Affordable housing remains a huge hurdle for many that live in Western New York and the Southern Tier. I am excited to see these communities get funding to help provide relief for those who are experiencing housing uncertainty.”
