Reg Lenna To Screen ‘Sinners’ Wednesday
Ryan Coogler, director of Black Panther and Creed, reunites with Michael B. Jordan for Sinners, which will be shown at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts. Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back. Sinners is rated R and is 137 minutes long. Jack Black and Jason Momoa star in A Minecraft Movie, which will be screened at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts. (Sat., June 28 at 2 p.m.) Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity doesn’t just help you craft, it’s essential to one’s survival! Four misfits find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld. To get back home, they’ll have to master this world while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve. A Minecraft Movie is rated PG and is 101 minutes long.
UPMC Chautauqua To Host Blood Drive
UPMC Chautauqua will host a Community Blood Bank blood drive from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, June 26.To donate, individuals must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. Appointments can be scheduled by visiting www.fourhearts.org or by calling Edinger at 814-596-3395. Walk-ins are also welcome, but scheduling an appointment ensures a smoother process for donors. Blood donations take about 45 minutes.
Watershed Conservancy To Screen Film June 28
On Saturday, June 28, at 6 p.m., the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy will host a screening of the short film “Canyon Chorus,” which was recently featured at the BANFF Center Mountain Film Festival World Tour. A panel discussion on accessibility and inclusion needs and efforts in the local communities will follow. There will also be an evening bonfire. Speakers include Kaycee Colburn, Andrea DiMaio and Miles Hilton. The events will take place at 4550 Maple Springs-Ellery Road in Bemus Point.
