Bemus Point School Board To Hold Special Meeting
BEMUS POINT – The Bemus Point Board of Education will conduct a special board meeting on Tuesday, June 24, in the cafeteria located at Maple Grove High School, 3980 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point. At 7 p.m. the board is expected to move into executive session to discuss the medical, financial, credit or employment history of a particular person or corporation, or matters leading to the appointment, employment, promotion, demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal or removal of a particular person or corporation. The regular meeting begins at 8 p.m. to be followed by an executive session for the purpose of discussing the medical, financial, credit or employment history of a particular person or corporation, or matters leading to the appointment, employment, promotion, demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal or removal of a particular person or corporation. The public is welcome to attend.
Food Bank Mobile Pantry Truck Will Be In Ashville Tuesday
ASHVILLE – The Food Bank of WNY Mobile Pantry Truck will be at the Ashville United Methodist CHurch from 10 a.m. to noon and 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 24. To receive free food, proof of address is required to show the recipient lives in one of the following ZIP codes: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celeron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785, and Busti. Those attending are asked to bring their own bags or boxes.
Borrello To Speak At Next TEA Party Meeting
State Sen. George Borrello, R-Sunset Bay, will be the featured speaker at the next general meeting of the TEA Party Patriots on Tuesday,, June 24, at 1309 Norby Road, Jamestown. He will be addressing the matter of escalating taxation and spending policies in state government and matters relating to Chautauqua Lake. He will touch on the assisted suicide bill passed recently by the state Senate and address statewide immigration issues as well.
Registration Open For County July 4th Parade
The annual Chautauqua County July 4th parade will step off at 10 am on Friday, July 4th, 2025. Registration forms can be found on the website chautauquajuly4th.com. Participants can register up to and including the day of the parade but all registrations received after June 27 will be placed in the third (last) division.
This year’s theme is “Christmas in July 2025” and participants are asked to decorate their entry accordingly. The committee is looking for additional musical entries. Any groups interested and requesting payment can call 716-753-6556 to discuss in advance of appearance.
Pairs And Spares To Meet June 28
The Pairs and Spares group will meet Saturday, June 28, at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Kiantone Congregational Church for a potluck dinner. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass. Pulled pork will be provided. All are invited to attend.
Kennedy Library To Host Golf Tournament
The Kennedy Free Library will be hosting the third annual Susan L. Abbey Memorial Golf Tournament on July 27 at 9 a.m. at Breezewood Links in Falconer. The tournament is a two-man scramble on a par 3 course, covering 18 holes. The cost is $50 a person and includes lunch and prizes. There will also be 50/50 giveaway and other contests during the tournament.
