Author To Host Book Reading Saturday At Chautauqua

Author and illustrator Leslie Calimeri is set to take young readers on a prehistoric adventure in her debut children’s book “One Day with Dinosaurs” published by AM Ink Publishing. A book launch celebration will be held at Chautauqua Art Gallery in Jamestown on Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to noon. Calimeri will read from the book at 10:30 a.m., followed by a book signing. Families, young readers, and dinosaur lovers of all ages are invited to attend.

Outdoor Club To Kayak Sunday
On Sunday, June 22, members of the Allegheny Outdoor CLub will kayak on the Conewango at Akeley. The activity had previously been cancelled. Those attending can meet at Musante Street, Warren, at 1:30 p.m. Tom Patterson will be the leader for the activity.

Meet June 22
The Chautauqua Vegetarian Society’s June meeting will take place June 22. Presenters will share tried and true recipes for vegan cheeses. The Meeting/Potluck Dinner will take place on June 22,from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 130 McDaniel Ave., Jamestown. Frewsburg School Board To Host Special Meeting
FREWSBURG – The Frewsburg Central School District will hold a special meeting Monday, June 23, at 5:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the Frewsburg Central Middle School/ High School, 26 Institute St, Frewsburg. It is anticipated the Board will enter into executive session.

Businesses For Grant Opportunity
CASSADAGA – The village of Cassadaga is applying for a state grant and is looking for local businesses for their input and partnership. Cassadaga’s NY Forward Core Application team is holding a Town Hall meeting on Monday, June 23, at 7 p.m. in the Village Community Room. All local residents are encouraged to attend. The meeting will focus on the continued efforts to land a $4.5 million NY Forward Grant that would prove to be transformational for the local area and our businesses. The team is looking forward to sharing the very important role businesses play in receiving this grant money and to hear businesses provide insight and ideas for bringing economic transformation to the village. “Only with your involvement can we complete the Cassadaga story that we shared in our 2024 submission. Economic growth will complete our story,” said Nancy Wickmark with the NY Forward Core Application Team.
