Busti Historical Society To Host Corn Grinding Sunday

BUSTI – The Busti Historical Society will be grinding corn Sunday, June 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the mill, 3443 Lawson Road, Busti. The society holds a 20c agricultural license to grind and sell cornmeal and buckwheat flour. The public is invited to see and tour the working mill. The event is free, donations are accepted. The mill was built in 1839 and remained in operation until 1960. It produced wheat flour, cornmeal, buckwheat flour, and animal feed. In 1973, it became property of the Busti Historical Society and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Panama School Board To Meet Monday

PANAMA – The Panama Central School Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, June 16, in the board room. The public is welcome to attend.

Free Admission To Audubon For Juneteenth

Admission to the Audubon Community Nature Center building will be free from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Juneteenth, Thursday, June 19, the commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Explore three floors of interactive indoor exhibits, see live animals (birds, turtles, salamanders, and snakes), and check out the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Outdoors visit the live birds of prey, enjoy the native tree arboretum, gardens, picnic area, and natural play space, and hike the more than five miles of trails for free from dawn until dusk. Representatives To Join Its Board of Directors

Chautauqua Opportunities Inc. is looking for a public sector representative to serve on its board of directors. The board’s public sector requirement includes public officials currently holding office or their designated representatives, including those from local, state, or federal government entities. If a sufficient number of elected officials are not available, appointed public officials may serve. The application deadline is June 16. Cassadaga Library To Host Authors June 19

CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga Library will host multiple local authors including Lynda Barber, Erin Gray, Trenton Lute, Nick Smith, Jason Bussman and Joan Wahl to discuss their work at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 19. The authors will explain their process, answer questions about writing and publishing. Those interested can also purchase an autographed copy of their books.
