JHS Concert Band Performs Tonight
The Jamestown High School Concert Band will perform the first summer concert series tonight at 7PM, at the Allen Park Bandshell. This will be a night full of great music presented by some of our best high school musicians. They will play music by Karl King, Aaron Copland, music from “How to Train Your Dragon”, “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Wicked”, plus much more.
Registration Open For Panama Alumni Gathering
BLOCKVILLE – Registration is open for the all-school Panama Central School Alumni Gathering on July 12 at Whittier Apple Farm, 1507 Blockville-Watts Flats Road, from 1 to 5 p.m. The cost per person is $25, or if three or more tickets are purchased at the same time, $20 per ticket. The event is catered by Ashville General Store. The registration form is available on the Alumni of PCS Facebook page or by contacting Marie Crosby at 716-664-7445. Registrations are due by July 1.
Chautauqua County Board Of Health To Meet
MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Board of Health will hold a special meeting on Thursday, June 12, at 6 p.m. in the Hall R. Clothier Building, fourth floor conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person. AHN-Westfield Hosts Blood Drive
Allegheny Health Network-Westfield will host a Community Blood Bank blood drive from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, in the bloodmobile parked behind the hospital. A second blood drive will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the YWCA of Westfield on June 13. Community Blood Bank partners with hospitals in Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York to provide blood for patients in need. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health. Valid photo identification is required. Audubon To Host Little Explorers
The Audubon Community Nature Center’s Little Explorers on Saturday will focus on reptiles. The program, designed for children ages 3-8 and their favorite adult, will include several reptilian Audubon animal ambassadors. Little Explorers takes place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Learn about the characteristics and behaviors of these animals with a hands-on exploration of shells, scales, and skulls, visiting the live animals, and more.A snack is provided after the hike and a craft is offered if there is time. Little Explorers takes place regardless of the weather, so dress accordingly. The fee is $12 for adults, $9 for children ages 3-8 and Nature Center members.
