Kiwanis Club Sponsors AMBA Wellness
Program
The Jamestown Kiwanis Club is sponsoring an AMBA Wellness Program on May 31 at the Tree of Life Evangelical Lutheran Church at 825 Forest Ave., Jamestown, from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The AMBA Wellness Program includes blood tests for coronary disease, liver and kidney disease, anemia, diabetes, and other types of diseases. The cost for the full AMBA panel is $59. In addition, the Jamestown Kiwanis Club will collect a $10 sponsorship fee which will assist various local programs for children such as the JHS Key Club, youth soccer, vocational scholarships, etc. The following optional tests are also available for an additional fee and require a separate prescription from a physician: Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), Thyroid (TSH), Vitamin D 25, Hemoglobin A1C, and Insure Colon Rectal Kit. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 1-800-234-8888.

To Meet Sunday
On Sunday, June 1, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride roads in the Youngsville area. Those attending should meet at the Tops parking lot at 2 p.m.

Auxiliary
Holds Meeting
FREWSBURG – The Samuel L. Derby American Legion Auxiliary Unit 556 met recently. A transmittal with one membership will be sent in to the state as soon as possible, thus reaching the goal of 250 members. Poppy Days were held recently with donations to be accepted until after Memorial Day. Volunteers are needed to help with set up and clean up for selling hot dogs and hamburgers after the Memorial Day parade. Volunteers are also needed to help serve on June 7 for the yard sales. The Bicentennial celebration will open on June 19 with a cruise-in. The Bicentennial Committee is also looking for vendors on June 21. The auxiliary will be helping with serving 200 chickens on June 21. The parade is that same day at 4 p.m., and the committee is looking for entries. A motion was made and seconded for Unit 556 to become a member of the Chautauqua County Veteran Council The current slate of officers for 2025-2026 is President Verna Hoover; First Vice Tammy Spontarelli; Second Vice Jen Jackson; Secretary Gwen Funcell; and Treasurer Debby Walsh. The installation dinner will be held on June 2. The next county meeting will be held on June 12 in Brocton. All Auxiliary members are encouraged to attend the meetings on the third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting for Unit 556 is June 17 at 6:30 p.m..
