Panama School Board To Meet Thursday
PANAMA – The Panama Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 29, in the board room. It is anticipated the board will go into executive session to discuss matters relating to the hiring of a new school superintendent. No action will be taken at this meeting.
Myers Memorial Library To Host Bike Rodeo Saturday
FREWSBURG – The Myers Memorial Library is hosting a bike rodeo, an interactive event designed to teach children bike safety skills and ensure their ride is ready to go. Employees from Jamestown Cycle Shop will be at the library at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, to perform offer safety checks and bike inspections and answer bike-related questions.
Sinclairville Fire Department To Host Chicken Barbeque June 1
SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Company will be hosting a chicken barbecue starting at noon Sunday, June 1. Meals are $15 and include a half chicken, scalloped potatoes, roll, pickles, fruit cup, and cookie. Coffee and water available. Chicken halves are also available for $8 apiece. Parking is available and meals can be eaten take-out or dine-in.
St. Luke’s To Host Parish Picnic Sunday
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will hold its annual parish picnic at Camp Onyahsa, 5411 East Lake Road, Dewittville, on Sunday, June 1, at 10:30 a.m. in place of the regular 10 a.m. service at the church. Bring a dish to pass along table service: plates, plastic-ware, serving utensils and something other to grill. St. Luke’s will provide: hot dogs, hamburgers and buns; ketchup, relish and mustard; lemonade and coffee; and extra plates, plastic utensils, and cups. Lake activities will also be available following lunch time, including swimming and kayaking.
Lana Keller To Be Featured In Author Series
BUSTI – The spring author series at Hazeltine Public Library will feature poet Lana Keller on Monday, June 2. “Lana is new to our series and the first poet we have featured this spring,” said Katie Smith, library director. “She is a Western New York native and has been writing poetry for several decades, inspired by her father’s work.” The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The Hazeltine Public Library is located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road, Busti, and weather permitting, Keller will be in the Community Building on the grounds of the library. JHS Class Of 1965 Planning Reunion
