Holy Apostles Choir To Perform Patriotic Music Sunday
The Holy Apostles Parish Choir will be singing special patriotic music which includes Battle Hymn of the Republic with brass this Sunday at the 11 a.m. mass at Saints Peter and Paul church. All are welcome to attend.
Outdoor Club To Hike Sunday
On Sunday, May 25, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will be hiking about 5 miles in Durhing, north of Marienville. The hike is a relatively flat out and back hike to the site of a sandstone quarry above Spring Creek. The group may drive through the site of the Durhing CCC and later the prisoner of war camp. The group will meet at Musante Street in Warren at 1 p.m. Greg Burkett is the leader for this activity.

Schedules Memorial Day Parade
FALCONER – The Village of Falconer Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 26, beginning at 10:15 a.m. The parade will begin at the intersection of West Main Street and Dow Street, travelling east to North Work Street and ending at the Pine Hill Cemetery. A remembrance ceremony will be held at the cemetery immediately following the parade. Retired Army veteran Chris Blakeslee will be the keynote speaker. All residents are encouraged to honor our service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country by attending the parade and remembrance ceremony. VFW Post 8647, Legion Post 493 To Host Memorial Day Ceremony
MAYVILLE – Lake Chautauqua Memorial VFW Post 8647 and William L. Travis American Legion Post 493 in Mayville will host this year’s Memorial Day Ceremony at the Gazebo in Mayville cemetery on Monday, May 26. VFW Commander Gary Counts and American Legion Scott Dearing invite everyone to attend. Anyone interested in marching in the parade should line up at Celebration Hall at 10 a.m. The parade is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Golf carts will be available for any veteran wishing to participate but unable to march. The keynote address entitled, “The Blanket of Freedom” will be delivered by Lt. Col. Joseph Cenni. A light lunch will be available at the VFW following the ceremony.

Admission Is Free Monday, May 26
On Monday, May 26, admission to the Audubon Community Nature Center is free in observance of Memorial Day from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The building hosts interactive displays, a collection of live animals including the Hellbender exhibit, winners of the 2024 Nature Photography Contest, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop.
