Vegetarian/Vegan Society
To Host May Meeting, Dinner
WESTFIELD – The May meeting of the Chautauqua Vegetarian/Vegan Society will be Sunday, May 18, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Westfield YWCA, 58 S. Portage St., Westfield. The program will be sharing favorite ideas for cooking and eating spring and early summer vegetables. The dinner will be a vegan pot-luck. The cost is $2 for those bringing a vegan dish to share or $6 without a dish. Reservations are requested by calling Gail at 716-753-7761 or messaging the group on Facebook. Sei Paulson discussed delicious but unusual veggies at the April meeting. Paulson will be back in the fall to present again with veggies the group can taste test. Clymer French Creek Library Board To Meet
CLYMER – The Board of Trustees of the Clymer French Creek Free Library will meet Monday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the library, 564 Clymer Sherman Road. The public is welcome to attend.
Hazeltine Library Author Series Continues

BUSTI – Local children’s author Dawn Swanson will be the featured presenter on Monday, May 19, as part of the ongoing Spring Author Series at the Hazeltine Public Library. Swanson, who is also the director of the Kennedy Free Library, has written books focused on the adventures and experiences of a young lady named Charlotte. She will have her books available for sale and signing during the evening. The event begins at 6:30 and is free and open to the public. The series is held in the library Community Building. The Hazeltine Library is located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road, Busti. There is off-street parking and the community building is handicapped-accessible. For more information contact the library at 716-487-1281. The author series will be off on Memorial Day, May 26, and resume Monday, June 2, with poet Lana Keller.
Myers Library Board To Meet May 20
FREWSBURG – The Myers Memorial Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, in the community room of the library, 6 Falconer St., Frewsburg. The meeting is open to the public.
Sheriff To Speak At May 20 SCOPE Meeting
MAYVILLE – The Shooters Committee on Political Education will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at VFW Post 8647, 10 Memorial Drive, Mayville. Sheriff Jim Quattrone will be the guest speaker on gun legislation.
Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers To Meet May 20
LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Lakewood American Legion Post 1286. The speaker for this program is Jamison Jeffrey, who will discuss medication safety. The next monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 17.
