Meet Today

MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens will meet at noon today at the VFW in Mayville. The speaker will be Air Force Reservist M. Sgt. Matthew Damcott, who works at the Lakeview Shock Correctional Center and holds a degree in criminal justice and law enforcement. Those attending should bring a dish to pass.

Stockton To Hold Town Wide Cleanup May 16-17

STOCKTON – The town of Stockton will hold its town wide cleanup from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 16, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17. Town residents should deliver trash to the town highway department storage building, 4696 W. Railroad Ave., Stockton. Appliances, trash and junk only will be accepted, no regular garbage. The following will not be accepted, tires, liquid waste, paints, oils, batteries, computers, appliances with freon like humidifiers and refrigerators. Appliances containing freon and electronics, including computers are accepted at county’s transfer stations in Fredonia, Falconer, Sherman and Frewsburg.

Allen Cemetery Association To Host Service Sunday

The Allen Cemetery will be holding its Memorial Day service Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony. The Allen Cemetery is located on Willard Street Extension.

Maple Grove Cemetery

Annual Meeting Is May 19

KIANTONE – The annual meeting for the Kiantone Maple Grove Cemetery will be held Monday, May 19, at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Kiantone Congregational Church. All lot owners are welcomed. Election of officers will be held.

Sinclairville Library To Host Author May 19

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Free Library will welcome local author Mindy Nichols Wendell on Monday, May 19, at 6 p.m. Wendell is the author of Light and Air; focusing on middle grade historical fiction. Before beginning her writing career, Wendell taught writing and literature at the State University at Fredonia for more than 30 years. She lives in western New York with her husband. Light and Air is Mindy’s debut novel.
