Myers Library To Host Meditation Workshop

FREWSBURG – On Saturday, May 10, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Loretta Cheney will be leading a class called “Honoring Life and Death Through Breath and Meditation.” Cheney will discuss the connection between spirituality, cultural identity and the power of breath-work and meditation. Cheney will share her personal journey and guide those attending to understand the transformative effects of meditation. She will also discuss how forming a relationship with, and planning for, death can be the key to living one’s best life. Shred-It Event To Be Held

WESTFIELD – The Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a Shred-It event on Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to noon in the hospital parking lot. The cost is $10 per container. A container is anything that can be handled. To participate, drive through the hospital parking lot. Someone will remove the items and participants can pay from their vehicle. All proceeds benefit ongoing projects at Westfield Memorial Hospital.

To Host Little Explorers May 10

The Audubon Community Nature Center will its monthly Little Explorers program for children ages 3 to 98 and a parent from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, with the theme Decomposer Detectives. Eventually every living thing breaks down and returns to the environment. The process doesn’t happen on its own though. There are fungi, bacteria, and invertebrates that help decomposing living matter and recycle it back into the earth to become something new. After a short indoor lesson learning about different types of decomposers, the group will go outside to look for evidence of decomposition. A snack is provided after the hike and a craft is offered if there is time. Little Explorers takes place regardless of the weather, so those attending should dress accordingly. The fee is $12 for adults, $9 for children ages 3-8 and Nature Center members. Enrollment is limited to 15 children, 30 participants total. Five-Hour Prelicensing Course Scheduled In Frewsburg

FREWSBURG – A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be offered at Frewsburg High School on Monday, May 12, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The cost is $30. Pre-register by emailing rhair@frewsburgcsd.org – include a picture of the student’s permit – or by calling 716-569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. When calling, be sure to have the student’s learner’s permit available.

Falconer Village Board To Meet May 12
