Quilt Guild To Meet Saturday

In Lakewood

LAKEWOOD – The Chautauqua Region Quilts of Valor group will meet Saturday at Quilters’ Haven at 10:30 a.m. The meeting will include discussion of the upcoming quilt presentations. All are welcome to attend. Quilters’ Haven is in the Jamestown Mattress Plaza at 135 E. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood.

Coin Club To Host Spring Show Sunday

CELORON – More than two dozen coin dealers from western New York and northwest Pennsylvania will be at the Jamestown Coin Club Spring Show on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Herman Kent American Legion Post 777 on Jackson Avenue, just off of Fairmount Avenue, West Ellicott. Dealers will be buying, selling, and offering free appraisals of United States, ancient, and foreign coins. Coin supplies will also be available for purchase.

Giveaways include a tenth-ounce $5 gold American Eagle as well as three silver Morgan dollars, four silver American Eagles, and others. Door prizes are given away every half hour. Except for December, the Jamestown Coin Club meets regularly on the fourth Tuesday of the month, also at the legion. Doors open at 6 p.m. and meetings begin at 7 p.m. Monthly get-togethers include door prizes and are highlighted by an auction of coins submitted by members. Annual membership is $10. Guests are welcome to participate at no charge. The Jamestown Coin Club presents their Fall Coin Show on the last Sunday in August. For more information, call 716-720-1591.

Harmony Senior Citizens To Meet Thursday

PANAMA – The Harmony Senior Citizens will meet at noon Thursday at Panama Methodist Church. A soup and sandwich luncheon is planned. Soups will be provided by June Whipple. Toni Campbell, Gail Keller and Sally Hagg. Someone volunteered to bring crackers. Members are asked to bring sandwiches, desserts or other dishes. Those attending are asked to bring their own soup bowls, plates and silverware. Hosts for the meeting include June

Whipple, Ray Wood and Carol Hetrick. Marty LaFredo will bring the birthday cake. Area seniors are invited and encouraged to attend.

Hunter Safety Course Is April

5 In Randolph

RANDOLPH – The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a hunter safety education class for the gun portion only from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Randolph Rod and Gun Club, 4424 VanSlyke Road, Randolph. There is no charge for the class. Participants must attend to receive a certificate. It is preferable that participants be at least 12 years of age. If a parent wants an 11-year-old to take the class, the parent must attend and sit with the child on that day. Class size will be limited to 35 students. Those attending must bring some form of identification such as a driver’s license, birth certificate, etc.; and a pen or pencil. They should also bring snacks, lunch and something to drink. Lunch is available within 15 minutes of class location also. Pre-registration is required at www.register-ed.com.
