Mayville Senior Citizens’ Harvest Dinner Is
Saturday
MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens are meeting Saturday at noon at the VFW in Mayville for a harvest dinner. Entertainment will be Steven Eng and Mark Davis. Everything is provided for the once-a-year event.
Sinclairville Library To Host Writing Classes Starting Saturday
SINCLAIRVILLE – Writers are invited to the Sinclairville Free Library for free writing classes being offered on the from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, Nov. 2, 9,16 and 23. “Writing Inspiration from Nature” will be presented by John Brantingham in a class that is open to ages 16 and up. Participants may attend one session, several or all and should bring a brown bag lunch. Writing prompts with time to write and receive feedback will be part of these classes. Brantingham is the recipient of a New York State Arts Council grant and was Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks’ first poet laureate. His work has been in hundreds of magazines and The Best Small Fictions 2016 and 2022. He has published 22 books of poetry, nonfiction, and fiction. He has taught creative writing at MFAs and college programs across the world in the United States, China, the United Kingdom, and Canada, and at Mt. San Antonio College where he was a professor and director of the creative writing program for 25 years. He has specialized in helping students develop their creative writing, and he has helped hundreds to publish their stories, poems, essays, and books.

Community Church To Host Dinner Saturday
SHERMAN – The Sherman Community Church, 107 Church St., Sherman, is hosting its annual Swiss steak dinner on Saturday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $10 adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Meals are available dine-in or take-out. Pies are available for dessert. The public is welcome to attend.

Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

RANDOLPH – The Randolph Central School District Board of Education will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m. in the high school library. The public is welcome to attend.
