PANAMA – The Panama Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the board room. The public is welcome to attend.

Sinclairville Library To Host Poetry, Prose Workshop Today

SINCLAIRVILLE – John Brantingham will lead a generative poetry and prose workshop at the Sinclairville Free Library at 5 p.m. Monday followed by an open mic reading at 6 p.m. In the generative workshop, those attending will produce at least one piece of poetry or fiction. Later, there will be a reading that can include work produced during the workshop or something else people have written.

Hazeltine Library’s Author Series Ends Monday

BUSTI – The author series at the Hazeltine Public Library will conclude Monday with a presentation from Adrienne Ploss, proprietor of Hickory Hurst Farms. The farm is best known for the roadside sign “Go Back, You forgot the Flowers.” Ploss has written an extensive geneological study and history of her family farm that carries the same name as her well recognized sign. This book details the initial purchase of the land by her family, the relationships that developed and growth and expansion of the farm to what is now seen on Route 394. She has continued her research and is working on the sequel, using dairies of Hamilton W. Ploss from 125 years ago. The presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the library, located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road, Busti. The public is welcome to attend.

Patriots To

Meet Tuesday

KIANTONE – The monthly meeting of the Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots is set for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at 1309 Norby Road, Jamestown. Matters relating to state and national elections will be the focus with special emphasis given to the defeat of Proposal 1 on the New York state ballot.

County IDA Meeting Set

The county IDA board will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the second floor board room in the BWB Building, 201 W. Third St., Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend. The meeting will also be live-streamed.

Comprehensive Plan

MAYVILLE – A public meeting is set for Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m. at the Carlson Community Center in Lakeside Park, Mayville, where officials will be discussing the comprehensive plan. The town and village are working together on a Comprehensive Plan and they will give an update on what has been done so far on the project.
