FALCONER – The Falconer Public Library’s next board meeting will be at 8 a.m. Thursday in the library, 101 W. Main St., Falconer. The public is welcome to attend.

Clinic To Be Held Oct. 5 In Gerry
GERRY – The Chautauqua County Health Department will host a free rabies vaccination clinic sponsored by the Town of Gerry from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Gerry Highway Department, 4675 Route 60, Gerry. Animals must be pre-registered to receive vaccinations. Vaccinations will be provided free of charge to all dogs, cats, and domesticated ferrets three months of age and older. Pre-registration is required and should be submitted online by visiting HealthyCHQ.com/Rabies. For more information about the clinic contact the Town of Gerry at 716-985-4715. Forestville Fall Festival Takes Place Saturday, Sunday
FORESTVILLE – The Forestville Fall Festival will be held at the Forestville High School on Academy Street, Forestville, on Saturday and Sunday. The gymnasium and halls will be filled with vendors of crafts, produce and food. The times for Saturday will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A chili cook-off will be held on Saturday. Those participating must name their chili and bring in at least a 5-quart crockpot by noon Saturday. Children’s activities are available and free of charge and includes pumpkin painting. Also included in Saturday’s events are a pork dinner at St. Rose of Lima Church starting at noon and a meat party at the Forestville American Legion at 7 p.m. The Forestville Fire Department will be having a chicken barbecue on Sunday starting at noon until sold out.

Women’s Group To Meet Oct. 8
RUSSELL – The Jamestown-Warren Christian Women will meet Tuesday, Oct. 8, at noon at Praise Fellowship Church, Russell, Pa. The speaker will be Sylvia Wurst on “Trusting God.” Music is by the Evertsen family. There is a $1 brown bag exchange. Reservations are made to Nancy Schuyler at 716-720-4410 or 716-485-9250. Fenton History Center To Close Lecture Series Oct. 9
Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. will be the last lecture in the Lecture Series at the Fenton History Center. Carol Crossed will be presenting her book “Vintage Tweets: Suffrage Era Postcards.” Vintage Tweets is a collection of 100-year-old suffrage postcards, the social media of the late 19th, early 20th century. Crossed’s narrative explores the meaning behind the illustrations. Crossed is on the board of The Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum in Adams, Mass. Her lecture is free, donations are accepted.
