St. Luke’s Thrift Shop Sets

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, will have its $2 summer bag sale of all remaining clothing.Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. All departments are still well stocked with quality clothing. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street.

Super Saturday Science Family Programs Set In Fluvanna

FLUVANNA – The Fluvanna Free Library will hold its next of Super Saturday Science Family Programs at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The program will be Crime Zone Investigation. Space is limited and registration is requested by Thursday by calling the library by phone at 716-487-1773 or emailing info@fluvannalibrary.org. The Fluvanna Free Library is located at 3532 Fluvanna Ave., Fluvanna. The Super Saturday Science Program is free and open to the public but donations are accepted. Each month the library presents the science program with activities focused in science or math. Games and activities are geared toward children aged 7 to 12 years.

Host Movie Night

BEMUS POINT – St. Timothy Lutheran Church will host its next movie night at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at the church, 3748 Route 430, Bemus Point. The church will show the film 9 To 5 starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton. The church provides popcorn. Those attending can bring any non-alcoholic beverages they like.

Lions Club To Host Fundraiser Sept. 21

FREWSBURG – A drive-through chicken and biscuit dinner fundraiser to raise money for the Frewsburg Lions Club’s Blind and Helping Hand Fund will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church parking lot, 45 Falconer St., Frewsburg. Presale tickets are preferred by calling 716-499-2191 by Sept. 16. The cost is a $12 donation. A minimum number of tickets will be available the day of the dinner.

Author To Host Book Reading, Signing At Library

A book signing with a question-and-answer session will be held from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Sept. 23 in the Prendergast Library’s Fireplace Room featuring Sherry States, an author whose roots are in the Jamestown area and is known under the names Sherry Spencer or Sherry Knight. She will be presenting her latest, “Never Forsaken God Delivered Me From Hopeless Situations”. Having experienced angel encounters, miracles, and multiple healings. She is a survivor of abuses, alcoholism, failed marriages, miscarriages, and rapes and is an overcomer through her love of God. The public is welcome to attend.
