Southwestern School Board To Meet Today
The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. in the board room in Southwestern High School. The public is welcome to attend.
Plank Road To Close Today
CLYMER – Plank Road, County Route 15, in the town of Clymer, between Clymer-Corry Road and the state line, will be closed to all but local traffic effective today. The closure is due to the replacement of a cross pipe. A detour will not be posted. Work is expected to be completed by the end of the day. Drivers should take an alternate route.
City Planning Commission To Meet Today

Classic Car Club To Meet Wednesday
FLUVANNA – The CLRAACA will have its monthly general meeting on Wednesday at the War Vets Recreation Club in Fluvanna starting at 7 p.m. Anyone with an interest in antique automobiles is welcome to attend.
Watts Flats UMC To Host Dinner Wednesday
WATTS FLATS – Watts Flats United Methodist Church, 866 Blockville-Watts Road, Watts Flats, will be having a meatloaf dinner with desserts on Wednesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The dinner will cost $10 with all proceeds to benefit the church.
Prendergast Library Board To Meet Thursday
The James Prendergast Library’s next Board of Trustees meeting will be held at the library at 5:15 p.m. Thursday. Board meetings are open to the public.
Free Car Seat Check Is
Saturday
LAKEWOOD – To commemorate National Seat Check Saturday, the Chautauqua Safety Village, The Rock Church and the Jamestown Police Department, Lakewood-Busti Police Department and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office are hosting a free car seat check on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rock Church parking lot, 35 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood. In addition to the car seat safety check, The Rock Church will be providing a bounce house, refreshments and childrens’ activities. “Parents and caregivers can come any time between 10am and 1pm to have their car seats and installation checked by certified technicians”,” said Jessica Dayton, Chautauqua Safety Village, executive director. “Even if you think your child’s car seat is installed correctly, come down and have it double checked so you can be sure that your child is the safest they can be while traveling.” Technicians are certified through Safe Kids Worldwide. Funding is provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration with a grant from New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
