Jamestown School Board To Meet Today

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. today in the board room, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. Prior to the board meeting, there will be a public hearing beginning at 5:45 p.m. on the District-Wide School Safety Plan. The safety plan may be viewed at www.jpsny.org/resources/district-plans/district-safety-plan. The public is welcome to attend.

History Fair To Include Area Bands, Cruise In

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Rustic Ramblers and Paul Zittel and Pure Country will perform in Sinclairville on Saturday as part of the annual Sinclairville History Fair. The Rustic Ramblers will perform from 3 to 6 p.m. while Paul Zittel and Pure Country will perform at 11 a.m. There is no charge, though those attending should bring a chair or blanket for seating. The village of Sinclairville will host a cruise-in on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Trophies and door prizes will be given. Types of vehicles welcome include cars, trucks, motorcycles and farm tractors. There will also be a craft show in the park.

Falconer Clerk, Treasurer To Limit Hours

FALCONER – The Falconer clerk and treasurer offices will be open limited hours the week of Sept. 16-20 while the office staff is away at training. The village code enforcement office will be open regular hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.

Myers Library Board To Meet Sept. 17

FREWSBURG – The Myers Memorial Library Board of Directors will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the library. The public is welcome to attend.

County Ethics Board To Gather

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Ethics Board will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, in Room 331 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville. Current members of the board are John Hamels, Diane Hannum, John Marengo, Darlene Nygren and Stephanie Stevens. County Heath Board Meets Sept. 19

MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Board of Health will hold its quarterly meeting Thursday, Sept. 19, at 6 p.m. in the HRC Building, fourth floor conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person. Members of the public may view the meeting live via the Health Department’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/@chautauquacountyhealthdepa7399/streams. Milliman Family Reunion Held

The 38th annual Milliman Family Reunion for all descendants of Lewis and Ettie Peters Milliman was held on Aug. 10 at the Leon Fire Hall with extended family members of Howard and Avis Milliman hosting. There were 60 family members in attendance for a beef on weck and hot dog dinner with sides and desserts provided by attendees, and grace was given by Judy Stevens. Gifts were presented in the following categories: Oldest male: James Milliman-84; Youngest: Ellie Mae Bromley; Farthest Traveled: Jim “Ken” Milliman-Broken Arrow,OK; Most recently married: Randy and Brenda Stankey-10 years. Attendees were entertained by a Chinese auction, sawdust pile with hidden treasures, outdoor games and a playground. The day was spent sharing memories, laughter and enjoying everyone’s company. Lori Milliman recorded the 2024 minutes. Next year’s reunion will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, at the Leon Fire Hall. The committee will use the Facebook group, emails and phone to notify descendants.
