Conservancy
To Host Wine Walk Monday
BEMUS POINT – The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy will hold a “Wine on the Trail” evening walk at its Browns Creek Nature Preserve, 5040 Walker Road, Bemus Point, starting at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Participants are welcome to bring their own wine or other beverage to enjoy as they navigate through and learn about the preserve with Conservancy Conservationist Carol Markham and Land Specialist Bethany O’Hagan. No fees or reservations are required.
Sherman School Board To Hold Special Meeting Monday
SHERMAN – The Sherman Central School board will meet at 8 a.m. Monday for a special meeting in-person in the school’s board room. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
Food Truck To Visit Ashville United Methodist Tuesday
ASHVILLE – The Feed More of Western New York Mobile Pantry Truck will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon and 3 to 5 p.m.The truck brings fresh produce and some staple items. To receive free food, proof of address from the following ZIP codes is required:Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and anyone who lives in the town of Busti or is a client of the Ashville Pantry. YMCA To Begin Swim Lessons
The Jamestown YMCA Aquatic department will start adult learn-to-swim classes the week of Sept. 3. Classes will be held Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:20 p.m. The YMCA will be offering youth lessons Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6 p.m. Lessons are for children between 3 and 12 years of age. The Y offers beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Classes are once a week for 45 minutes and the session runs for four weeks. The Jamestown YMCA Jets competitive swim team is offering a free trial for new swimmers between the ages of 5 and 18. For more information email maria@jamestownymca.org or jchinni@jamestownymca.org.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church To Host Chicken Barbecue
FALCONER – Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Falconer will be hosting a take-out chicken barbecue dinner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the church, 20 N. Phetteplace St., Falconer. Orders are pre-sale only by calling the church office at 716-665-2102 to purchase a ticket. Tickets are $15. Dinners include a half-chicken, macaroni salad, roll and dessert. The proceeds will go to the church mission fund.
Westfield To Hold Special Meeting
WESTFIELD – The Westfield Village Board is holding a non-public hearing special work session meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 4-6 p.m. and will enter into Executive Session to discuss the employment history of a particular member or members in a village department.
