Coin Club Show Is August 25 In Celeron

The Jamestown Coin Club will host its annual coin show from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, at the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion on Jackson Avenue, just off Fairmount Avenue, in West Ellicott. More than two dozen dealers from western New York, northwest Pennsylvania, and Ohio will be buying, selling, and offering free appraisals of U.S., ancient, and foreign coins. Coin supplies will also be available for purchase. In addition to prizes that include a tenth-ounce American Eagle, 3 BU Morgan dollars, a 1946 Walking Liberty half dollar, a 1896 uncirculated Indian Head cent and 4 Silver Eagle coins, door prizes will be given away hourly. Except for December, the Jamestown Coin Club meets regularly on the fourth Tuesday of the month, also at the legion. Doors open at 6 p.m. and meetings begin at 7 p.m. These monthly get-togethers include door prizes and raffles and are highlighted by an auction of coins submitted by members. Community Music Project To Begin Practices August 26

The Community Music Project is beginning its 6th season of the CMP Chorale, a countywide community choir that is free to join without audition or cost. The chorale is well suited for those who once enjoyed singing or still are an active singer. The chorale rehearses Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. with a choral concert Nov. 3. The first rehearsal will be Aug. 26 in the Southwestern High School choral room. Borrello, Assembly Candidate To Speak At TEA Party Meeting

State Sen. George Borrello, R-Sunset Bay, and Andrew Molitor, Republican-endorsed candidate for the 150th state Assembly seat currently held by Assemblyman Andy Goodell, will be featured at the next meeting of the Southern TEA Party Patriots on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m. at 1309 Norby Road. There will also be an update on state Proposition 1 which will be on the election ballot in November.

Hazeltine Public Library Trustees To Gather

BUSTI – The next meeting of the Hazeltine Public Library trustees will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held in the library, located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road. Church To Hold Movie Night

St. Timothy Lutheran Church will hold its next movie night at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, with a showing of the film, ‘Abba.’ The church will provide popcorn. Those attending can bring any non-alcoholic beverages they want. St. Timothy is located at 3748 Route 430, Bemus Point.

Ross Grange Holds Meeting

FALCONER – Officer Emma Ward and Advocate Allison Murphy of the Jamestown Police Department presented a program on domestic violence and Project Crossroads during a recent meeting of the Ross Grange. The meeting included lunch and a cake to celebrate the 100th birthday of member Frank Walker. The charter was draped in memory of Joyce Anderson. Ross Grange placed second with their booth at the Chautauqua County Fair “The Family Dinner.” Mary Jane Griffith, treasurer, gave her report which was accepted. A letter of thanks for the grange donation to the Falconer Esports team was received. The team participated in a national competition in Florida with the local team placing fourth of 19 overall. Member Josiah Sprague placed fifth out of 53 in the individual brackets.

A pumpkin bread contest will be held at the September meeting.
