Lakewood Library Board To Meet Tuesday

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Memorial Library Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the library, 12 W. Summit St., Lakewood. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Reservations Needed For JHS Class Of 1974 Reunion

Jamestown High School’s Class of 1974 will hold its 50th Class Reunion on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Moonbrook Country Club, 2879 N. Main St. Ext. The reunion will begin with cocktails and a cash bar at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. with music, dancing and socializing from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Additionally, an informal “Welcome” gathering, including snacks and a cash bar, will take place on Friday, Sept. 6, from 7-10 p.m. on the patio at the back of the National Comedy Center, 203 W. Native Plant Sale Set for August 24

MAVYILLE — On Saturday, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Chautauqua Marina and the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy will be holding a native plant sale, with proceeds benefiting the conservancy at the Chautauqua Marina, 104 W. Lake Road, Mayville. A variety of native plants will be available for purchase from several local nurseries. Guided educational lakeside buffer walks will be offered at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and Carol Markham, a conservancy conservationist, will be on hand to answer questions about native plant selection and native garden design. The event is free.

Community Music Project To Begin Practices August 26

The Community Music Project is beginning its 6th season of the CMP Chorale, a countywide community choir that is free to join without audition or cost. The chorale is well suited for those who once enjoyed singing or still are an active singer. The chorale rehearses Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. with a choral concert Nov. 3. The first rehearsal will be Aug. 26 in the Southwestern High School choral room. Zoning Board To Meet August 26

LAKEWOOD – The Village of Lakewood will hold a special Zoning Board of Appeals/Planning Board meeting on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 5:15pm. Two Agenda Items will be discussed regarding 22 Lakeview Ave. and 18 Sunset Ave. All Public hearing notices are posted at the village hall.
