Children’s Music Is Featured Today At Allen Park

The Jamestown Municipal Band will perform at 7 p.m. today at the Goranson Bandshell in Allen Park, with a children’s concert planned. Refreshments will be available featuring homemade fudge and fresh hot dogs, popcorn

and penny candies for children as well as ice cream.

Kennedy Library To Host Teen Even Friday

KENNEDY – The Kennedy Free Library is hosting a summer reading teen event in the library’s cooking series for teenagers at 1 p.m. Friday. Teens ages 13 to 19 are invited to the library to make Smores Cake Pops. The event is free and all supplies will be provided. Registration is not required but is helpful. Post 777 To Host First Responders Appreciation Day

CELORON – The American Legion Herman Kent Post 777 in Celoron will host First Responders Appreciation Day on Aug. 3 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the post, 26 Jackson Ave., Celoron. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Pawsitive for Heroes program through WNY Heroes, an organization that assists veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in obtaining trained service dogs. There will be free barbecue lunch provided, as well as 50/50 giveaways, basket giveaways, a gun giveaway, live demonstrations from Chautauqua County first responders, a car seat safety check and more. Multiple agencies will be in attendance, including the Dwyer Program, which specializes in veteran peer-support services.

Waite Family to Host Reunion August 3

The 142nd Waite family reunion will be held at noon Aug. 3. The reunion is the 200th anniversary of Stephen Waite coming to Napoli. The family will commemorate Jemima Babcock Waite, wife of Stephen Waite, with a bronze plaque. Lunch will be served at the East Randolph Methodist Church in East Randolph, with the plaque unveiling to be held in the South Napoli Cemetery.
