Lakewood Library To Host Lake Program
LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Memorial Library will host “Libraries Love Lakes” on July 17 at 5 p.m. The program is designed for families to discover the significance and ecology of Chautauqua Lake. Hosted in collaboration with the Chautauqua-Conewango Consortium, a Waterkeeper Alliance affiliate, the event will include hands-on activities and an informative presentation to help people gain a deeper understanding of the lake’s ecosystem and their role in preserving its natural beauty. Participants will delve into topics such as water quality, aquatic habitats, native species, and conservation efforts.
Falconer Softball Legacy Night Is July 17 At Tarp Skunks Game
FALCONER – The village of Falconer will be celebrating “Falconer Softball Legacy” at the Jamestown Tarp Skunks game on Wednesday, July 17, at 6:30 p.m. Former Falconer Central School softball players are asked to contact the village clerk at 716-665-4400 or visit the village hall at 101 W. Main St. for tickets to the game.
County Health Board Meets
July 18
MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Board of Health will hold its quarterly meeting on Thursday, July 18, at 6 p.m. in the Hall R. Clothier Building, fourth floor conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person. Members of the public may view the meeting live via the Chautauqua County Health Department’s YouTube channel. Kennedy Library To Kick Off
Summer Reading Program July 18
KENNEDY – The Kennedy Free Library will host its annual summer reading program this year from July 18-August 22. The program takes place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays. The children are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Each week they will take an adventure to a different town of Poland landmark and learn about its function and the people that work there. The children will be given passports, lanyards, compasses, water bottles, and flashlights to participate. They will also receive chances to win the summer’s grand prize – a tent, sleeping bag and lantern. Children up to 12 years of age are welcome to attend. Call 716-267-4265 for questions.
