Tiffany Avenue To Close Today

Tiffany Avenue in the town of Ellicott and city of Jamestown between Hopkins Avenue and West Main Street will be closed to all traffic starting today. The closure is due to repairs of County Bridge 1063 . A detour will be posted. This closure shall remain in effect until the repairs are completed and said detour signs are removed.

County Parks Commission To Meet Thursday

PORTLAND – The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday at Leunsman Overlook Park, Thayer Road, Portland. The meeting is open to the public.

Author To Visit Sinclairville Library

SINCLAIRVILLE – Deb Pines, author of the Chautauqua Murder Mystery series, will visit the Sinclairville Free Library on Friday at 9 a.m. to introduce her new release, Caught in the Snare. The author will answer questions about her writing process, the publication and marketing of her books as well as her career writing headlines for the New York Post. Red Cross Schedules June 28 Blood Drive

CASSADAGA – The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. June 28 at the Cassadaga Fire Hall, 22 Mill St., Cassadaga. To make an appointment or for more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. visit RedCrossBlood.org. call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Market Opening Set For Saturday

MAVYILLE — This Saturday marks the Grand Opening of the Saturday evening market from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Train Depot in Mayville.

It will include a ribbon cutting at 16 Water St. (Train Depot).

After the market starting at 8 this Saturday there will be a movie in the park.

Organizers are looking for sponsors for the public viewing of the movies in the park since it is quite expensive. Bring your lawn chairs and your blankets.

Lakewood Library To Launch Reading Program

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Memorial Library will host its “Adventure Begins at Your Library” summer reading program launch party on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees can register to keep count of the minutes that they read over the summer (on paper or online) and compete for prizes. The festivities will include a petting zoo and free pizza. The library will host special summer reading program events every Tuesday (children at 11 a.m., teens at 1 p.m.) from July 2 through August 20.
