Lakewood Trustees To Meet Today

LAKEWOOD – The Village of Lakewood Board of Trustees meeting will be held today at 6:30pm.

Southwestern School Board To Meet Tuesday

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the board room, 600 Hunt Road, West Ellicott. The public is welcome to attend.

Jamestown School Board Meets Tuesday

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the board room, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

Lakewood Library Board To Meet Wednesday

LAKEWOOD – The Board of Trustees for the Lakewood Memorial Library will meet briefly via Zoom on Wednesday, June 26, at 6 p.m. Members of the public wishing to participate may contact the library director for log-in information at director@lakewoodlibrary.org.

Sinclairville Library To Host Jam Session

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Free Library invites the public to participate in musical sessions led by Rico Garfalo on the following Thursdays at 6 p.m.: June 27, July 25 and August 29. Those participating can sing or bring their own instruments. Audience members are also welcome. A Yamaha electric keyboard and an acoustic guitar are available for use during jam sessions. Family sing-alongs will be held on Monday, July 15, and Monday, Aug. 19, at 6 p.m. led by Hope Fredrickson. The programs are free and open to all ages. The library is located at 15 Main St., Sinclairville and can be reached by calling 716-962-5885. The library will be closed on Thursday, July 4, for Independence Day.

Labyrinth To Host Discussion Group

On Wednesday, June 26, at Labyrinth Press Company (12 E. Fourth St., Jamestown), Loretta Cheney will host a unique gathering for those interested in the topic of death. Founded by Jon Underwood and based on the work of Bernard Crettaz, death cafes are, “group directed discussions of death with no agendas, objectives or themes.” Starting at 5:30 p.m., participants are encouraged to bring thoughts, questions, fears, experiences, etc., and invited to contribute to a conversation. Salvation Army Mobile Food Truck Visit Set For June 26-27

The Salvation Army of Jamestown will be holding its monthly mobile distribution, Food Express, June 26-27. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Picture ID is required. Community partners will be on site to offer information on complimentary programming. Community partners include Chautauqua County Health Department hosting a mobile vaccine clinic, Catholic Charities, Jamestown Revivial, Sanflippo Solutions, SNAP enroller Brooke Barone, and Fidelis Care. No registration is required.
