Library Adds
New Books
SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Free Library has added 76 new hardcover children’s picture books and juvenile fiction and nonfiction books from a Children’s Book Project Grant from The Pilcrow Foundation sponsored through a donation from Marisa Young of Maryland. Donor-sponsored programs through the foundation increased the library’s collection of children’s books with an additional 18 new juvenile health and wellness books provided by a donation from Drs. Bill Strawbridge and Meg Wallhagen of California and 23 math and science books provided by a donation from Mr. Hal Berenson and Mrs. Laura Ackerman of Colorado. The Children’s Book Project Grant, which is given on a two-to-one matching basis, supplies small rural libraries with new hardcover children’s books. The library’s contribution of $400 was raised by a Read-a-thon in February. The Pilcrow Foundation’s 2 to 1 matching grant enabled the library to select $1,200 worth of books from the Foundation’s booklist. An open house reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the library. Light refreshments will be provided.
