Car Club To Host Easter Egg Hunt March 23

The Los Contrincantes Car Club will host an Easter egg hunt at 3 p.m. Saturday at Lillian Dickson Park on Falconer and Bowe streets, Jamestown, for children between the ages of 1 and 5 as well as for children of all ages with special needs. There will be opportunities for pictures with the Easter bunny, and a free hot dog and drink for children attending.

AMVETS Post 726 Auxiliary To Host Dinner

The AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 726 will be hosting a dinner on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m., or until sold out, at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. Proceeds of the dinner will go to one of the post’s national programs. The ladies will be serving a choice of two dinners: chicken and biscuits or ham with cherry pineapple sauce and sweet potatoes. The meals include a vegetable and dessert. The cost of the dinner is $12 for adults and $5 for children ages six and under. The dinners may be eaten on site or take-outs are available. The bar area will be open at 3 p.m. The dinner is open to nonmembers also.

A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors | years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

County To Close Offices April 8 For Eclipse

MAYVILLE – In anticipation of the upcoming 2024 Solar Eclipse, Chautauqua County Government will close all county offices and services, except emergency and essential services. Starting at noon on Monday, April

8. County offices and non-essential services will close from noon April 8 and reopen at 8:30 am. Tuesday.

April 9. By closing county offices and services during the eclipse. The county aims to minimize traffic congestion. Promote public safety, and enable residents and visitors to fully experience this rare celestial phenomenon.
