The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will hold a budget work session today at 6 p.m. in the board room of the JPS Administration Building, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

Hold Annual Meeting Today

The Jamestown Urban Renewal Agency board will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in the mayor’s fourth floor conference room in city hall. The meeting will serve as the JURA annual meeting. The public is welcome to attend.

Sherman Central School Board Meeting Mon., Mar. 18

SHERMAN – The Sherman Central School Board of Education will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 18. The meeting will be held in-person in the school’s auditorium. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.

Kennedy Library To Hold Book Sale March 22-23

KENNEDY – The Kennedy Free Library will be hosting its annual book sale March 22-23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friends of the library will be invited to a sneak peak of the sale on March 21 from 3 to 6 p.m. Those interested in becoming a friend of the library can pay a one-time fee of $20. The bag sale will be Saturday, March 23. For any questions on the annual book sale, call 716-267-4265.

Post 726 Ladies Auxiliary To Host Dinner March 24

AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 726 will be hosting a dinner on Sunday, March 24, from 4 to 7 p.m., or until sold out, at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. Proceeds of the dinner will go to one of the AMVETS’ national programs. The ladies will be serving a choice of two dinners: chicken and biscuits or ham with cherry pineapple glaze and sweet potatoes. The meals include a vegetable and dessert. The cost of the dinner is $12 for adults and $5 for children ages six and under. The dinners may be eaten on site or take-outs are available. As a bonus, the club will have the bar area open at 3 p.m. The dinner is open to non-members also.

Falconer UPK Lottery Draw Registration

Deadline Approaches

FALCONER – All parents of children who will be 4 on or before December 1, 2024, are required to register their child for universal pre-kindergarten by May 3 to be eligible for the UPK Lottery Draw. To register a child, visit the Falconer Central School website – click on Our District/ Enrollment/UPK Students or call Paul B. D. Temple Elementary at 716-267-3255 for more information. UPK screening will be held on June 5 and June 6. Also, all parents of children in the Falconer Central School District who will be 5 on or before December 1, 2024, who currently do not have a child enrolled in UPK at Paul B. D. Temple Elementary are urged to call Paul B. D. Temple Elementary at 716-267-3255 to register for kindergarten screening which will be held on June 3 and June 4.
