Board To Meet

The Chautauqua County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board will meet at 9 a.m. on Thursday in Room 331 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville. The meeting is open to the public and is available by videoconference by going to chqgov.webex.com/meet/sharpl. Falconer To Hold Planning Board Meeting

FALCONER — The village of Falconer will hold a Planning Board meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, March 4, in the community building board room, 101 W. Main St., Falconer. The public is welcome to attend.

Ross Grange

To Meet On March 11

FALCONER — Ross Grange will meet at the Falcon’s Nest on Monday, March 11. Brenda Cavallaro, Falconer historian, will share village history following lunch at 12:30 p.m. Those attending should bring a dish to share. Table service and beverages will be provided. All interested are invited to attend.

Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Holds Meeting

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 held its regular monthly meeting recently. It was noted that Unit 1280 and community members have made lap blankets that have been given to local veterans and seniors. Plans are in the works for the post’s annual rummage sale scheduled for May 18. Donations are accepted. Members present voted to donate money to the two local libraries. The next unit meeting will be Tuesday, March 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the legion post.

Martz Observatory To Host Eclipse Ambassador

FREWSBURG — Tom Traub, NASA eclipse ambassador and experienced amateur astronomer, is hosting a series of drop-in events at the Martz-Kohl Observatory in the coming weeks. He will provide a historical view of solar eclipses and explain how and why eclipses happen and what you can expect to experience with the total solar eclipse on April 8 in Western New York and Northwest Pennsylvania. Traub will be available for one-on-one question-and-answer sessions. A video of one of Tom’s talks is also available online at martzobservatory.org/tom-traub-2024. Traub will be at the observatory at 6 p.m. March 23, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 6. The Martz Observatory is located at 176 Robbin Hill Road, Frewsburg. Bemus Point To Host Easter Egg Hunt March 30

BEMUS POINT — The village of Bemus Point will host its Easter egg hunt at 10:30 a.m. on March 30 at the Bemus Point Golf Club and Tap House. More than 3,000 eggs will be hidden. Volunteers are needed for the event.
