Outdoor Club To Host Weekend Activities

On Saturday, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club are invited to participate in an Eagle watch at the Kinzua Dam bird watching platform from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities include outdoor bird-watching and geocaching and two different indoor bird programs at the Bird Bend Visitor Center, a half-mile downstream from the Kinzua Dam. The attached highlights one of the bird presentations, a presentation by birds of the area to be given by Rocky Holland of Kane, Pa. On Sunday the group will ski or hike in the Economite Road area. Those attending should meet at Musante Street in Warren at 1 p.m. Greg Burkett will be the leader and can be reached at 814-723-4989 for any questions.

Second Pasta Palooza To Be Held Saturday

FALCONER — The second annual Pasta Palooza will be held from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at 11 S. Dow St., Falconer. The event will be in recognition of National Missing Persons Day. A suggested donation of $15 will be collected. The meal includes a pasta entree, side salad, Italian bread, green beans, drink and brownie. The event is being organized by the WNY Missing and Unidentified Persons Network. All proceeds benefit the Unsolved Crimes Unit of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s.

Conservancy To Host Winter Walk/Snowshoe Sunday

CASSADAGA — The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy will hold a free guided winter walk/snowshoe at 3 p.m. Sunday at its Cassadaga Lakes Nature Park. Those attending should meet at 2:50 p.m. at the park’s entrance, which is located on Route 60 in Cassadaga between Tim Horton’s and Camp Gross. Parking is limited, so those attending are asked to carpool if possible. No reservations are required. The walk is being offered as part of the 2024 Cassadaga Lakes Winter Festival.

Ellington Church To Celebrate Anniversary

ELLINGTON — Ellington Community Church is celebrating its 196th anniversary at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 4. There will be special music by Tim Stahlman and 80 years of church memories shared by Lucile Frost. Lunch will follow the service.

Resort To Host Annual Chili Cook-Off

CLYMER — Peek’n Peak Resort will host its annual chili cook-off from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at The Retreat. Chefs and home cooks can enter their chili for a chance to win a $500 grand prize. There is no entry fee required. The admission fee of $15 for adults and $5 for children 11 and under will benefit the Clymer, Sherman, and Findley Lake fire departments.
