Host Soup, Chili Cook-Off

On Sunday, Jan. 27, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will host a Soup-or Chili cook-off from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants pay $2 to purchase a bowl and spoon plus $1 per scoop of soup. Takeout containers in cup, pint, and quart sizes (for $3, $5, and $10 respectively) will be available. All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit St. Luke’s youth service and pilgrimage trips. This year’s funds will support St. Luke’s youth pilgrimage to Italy in February. Eight of St. Luke’s youth will be walking that last 120 km of the ancient the Via Francigena, an ancient pilgrimage route from Canturbury to Rome.

Beautification Committee May Restart

FALCONER – There has been interest in starting up the Falconer Beautification Committee again. Anyone interested in participating can contact the Village Clerk’s office at 716-665-4400 or email falconer@netsync.net.

Coffee Company Visits Frewsburg Lions Club

FREWSBURG — Erin Willman, CEO and founder of the White Cane Coffee Company, along with her father Bob Willman, visited the Frewsburg Lions Club recently. The White Cane Coffee Company is located in Warren and manufactures and markets coffee throughout the U.S. and internationally. The company provides employment for the blind and disabled. The coffee bags have a braille label to make it easier for the blind to do their shopping. The Frewsburg Lions Club will be selling the White Cane Coffee for its fundraiser through Feb. 12. The Frewsburg Lions Club volunteers serving their community and beyond. Meetings are held the second Monday of the month. For more information call 716-969-6488.

Audubon First Sunday Story Time Is Feb. 4

The Audubon Community Nature Center will host its next First Sunday Story Time for children ages 2 to 8 on Feb. 4. The Nature Center doors open at 12:20 p.m. for the 12:30 to 1 p.m. event on Sunday, Feb. 4, before doors open to the public at 1 p.m. The program is free as is Sunday admission. Come for stories and stay to explore the indoor Nature Play Area, live animals, and exhibits. Participation is limited to 15. Reservations for Story Time are requested by Saturday, February 3. To reserve a space, call the Nature Center during open hours at 716-569-2345 or go to AudubonCNC.org and click through Programs and Events. Walk-ins are welcome if there is room.

Dine Out For Audubon At Shawbucks

On Feb. 6

Shawbucks will host a Dine Out For Audubon fundraiser from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6. Located at 212 West Second St., Jamestown, Shawbucks will donate a portion of the proceeds from that evening to Audubon. No reservations are necessary. There will also be a basket giveaway.
