Hazeltine Library To Participate In Special Day For Children

BUSTI – Hazeltine Public Library will be participating in the 13th annual Take Your Child to the Library Day on Feb. 3. The library will be open from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. and feature craft activities, snacks and free books for kids. No reservations are needed and events are all free. Take Your Child to the Library Day celebrates the importance of the library in the lives of children and their families. Studies have shown the children who read at grade level are more likely to graduate high school, opening doors to a bright future. “Exploring materials in the library, picking out books, participating in story times and getting a library card can help children learn independence, fuel their curiosity and create a lifelong passion for reading,” said Katie Smith, Hazeltine Public Library director. “If you want your children to become lifelong learners, engaged citizens and passionate about learning; begin by bringing them to the library on Take Your Child to the Library or on any other day.” Traditional library services will be offered on Feb. 3 as well. Patrons can check in and check out materials, use the computers and enjoy the library.
