Lakewood Library To Host Book Signing By P-J Columnist
LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Memorial Library will welcome local author and columnist Marcy O’ Brien on Friday at 5 p.m. O’Brien recently released her first book, Rounding Third. She will read a few excerpts, answer questions and sign copies of her book. Copies will be available at the event for a one-time introductory price of $15, $3 less than retail. Rounding Third… is a memoir collection of warm stories and columns from a 20-year writing career. O’Brien’s weekly column appears in the Warren Times Observer, The Post-Journal and Dunkirk OBSERVER. She has written feature articles for the Washington Post, Boston Globe, Yankee Magazine, Shipmate Magazine, the Chautauquan, and others. The Lakewood Memorial Library is located at 12 W. Summit St., Lakewood.
Fenton History Center To Host Sensory Friendly Visits With Santa
The Fenton History Center will host sensory friendly visits with Santa Claus from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday. Santa is well versed in working with individuals with special needs, and center officials have created a peaceful and festive atmosphere for individuals and their families to be able to enjoy a Santa visit together. Parents or caregivers are required to accompany children. The event is open to the community and free of charge. Each family will visit Santa individually in a quiet room, which is handicapped-accessible. For more information call 716-664-6256.
4-H To Host Christmas
Craft Program Saturday
Chautauqua County’s 4-H Program is hosting a Christmas Crafts L.E.A.F Jr. workshop Saturday starting at 10 a.m. in the Carnahan Center at Jamestown Community College, 241 James Ave., Jamestown. Lunch will be available around noon. All youth are welcome to attend. Hot cocoa will be provided and there will be a baked potato bar for youth. Those attending will make ornaments, decorations, homemade candles and Christmas swags. Branches for the swags are donated by Yerico Farms.
