Meeting Is Today

PORTLAND — The board of director’s meeting for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County will be at 7 p.m. today at the Lake Erie Regional Grape research station, 6592 West Main Road, Portland. The public is invited to attend.

JPS To Hold Public Hearing Tuesday

There will be a public hearing of Jamestown Public Schools’ capital project at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, in the board room of the JPS administration building, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. A regular school board meeting will take place at 6 p.m. following the public hearing.

Tea Party

Meeting To Be Held Thursday

The TEA Party group will meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at 1390 Norby Road, Jamestown, followed by pizza and chips. The regular meeting will commence at 7 p.m. Individuals recently elected in Jamestown and the county level will appear at the meeting with brief remarks about their respective office.

Lakewood Library To Host New Exhibit For December

LAKEWOOD – Lakewood Memorial Library, 12 W. Summit St., will welcome a new exhibit for the month of December. “Breathe” is a one-woman show of the art of Audrey Kay Dowling. An artist reception will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 5-7 p.m. All are welcome to attend. “Breathe” will focus on water and the woods from different seasons. The show will contain paintings and mixed media 2D and 3D pieces.

Sinclairville Library To Offer Card-Making

Program

SINCLAIRVILLE — Sinclairville Free Library, 15 Main St., Sinclairville, invites the public to a program at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, to make holiday greeting cards. The program is for ages 10 and up. A fee of $5 will cover the cost of all materials to create three different cards with instruction provided by Amanda Verlini. Information about library programs and services is available on the library’s website at sinclairvillelibrary.org. The library will be closed Dec. 23-25 and Jan. 1 for the holidays.

Fluvanna Free Library To Host Local Author

Fluvanna Free Library will celebrate the publishing of “Charlotte the Very Good, Very Naughty Girl” by local author Dawn Swanson with a book signing Friday, Dec. 8, from 2-4 p.m. The book will be available at the library on the day of the event. The library will also offer activities for children during Swanson’s visit. Fluvanna Free Library is located at 3532 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown.
