Old Fashioned Christmas Open House Is Sunday

BUSTI — The Old Fashioned Busti Christmas Open House will be held from 4-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3. The event will include a winter evening with candlelight, natural greens, shopping and holiday cookies, as well as a tour of the new museum exhibits. Parking is available across from the mill. The grist mill, Miller’s House and museum will be open to tour. “The Society received a generous grant from the Lenna Foundation to refresh the museum, add new lighting, and catalog many of the artifacts and special collections,” said Carl Schultz, president of the board of trustees. “The museum exhibits have been updated with new information and artifacts. Children can send a letter to Santa in the post office exhibit and make a holiday craft in the schoolroom.” All are invited to enjoy refreshments and buy some Christmas cookies. Admission, refreshments, and crafts are by donation. Christmas cookies will be available for purchase by the pound.

Frewsburg School Board To Gather

FREWSBURG — The Frewsburg Central School Board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in the middle-high school multi-purpose room.

County Planning board To Meet

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Planning Board will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office, 1 N. Erie St. Mayville.

Randolph School Board Meets Next Week

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the high school library. Those who wish to attend are asked to contact Maureen Pitts, district clerk, at 716-358-7005.

Church To Host Chorus Lighting Contest

GERRY — The Cassadaga Valley Community Chorus will perform Christmas music at Gerry Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8. All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will follow the performance. The church is also again sponsoring a Christmas lighting contest for the town of Gerry. Judging will begin on Dec. 26 and awards will be given Jan. 3. To be eligible, send a name, address and phone number to Gerry Methodist Church, PO Box 187 Gerry, NY by Dec 20.

Legion Post To Host Kids Christmas Party

FREWSBURG — The Samuel L. Derby Unit 556 of the Frewsburg Legion met in November. A motion was made and carried to give $500 to the Blue Star Mothers to help cover their postage costs. The children’s Christmas party will be held on Dec. 10. Members will meet on Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. to wrap gifts. Members will also provide cookies for the party. A box has been placed in the lounge area to collect items for the 12 veterans that reside at The Magnolia. Items to be collected include tissues, deodorant, shampoo, soap, lotion, mouthwash, single-pack toothbrush, toothpaste and denture cleaner. Each veteran will also receive a Christmas gift. Poinsettia plants will be delivered to two long-time members. A sign-up sheet will soon be available for the auxiliary’s Christmas party to be held on Dec. 19. The Unit 556 Auxiliary meets on the third Tuesday of every month, and all members are encouraged to attend.
