JCC To Host

Veterans Day

5K Saturday

Jamestown Community College’s Veterans and Military Aligned Student’s Club is hosting a Veterans Day 5K run/walk on Saturday. The event begins at 10 a.m. at the Jamestown Campus Physical Education Complex parking lot, with the race starting at 11 a.m. The cost to participate is $10 for students and veterans and $15 for community members. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers. Register online at runsignup.com/Race/NY/Jamestown/VeteranDay5K. Proceeds front the 5K support JCC’s Veterans Scholarship Fund and club activities.

Family History Club To Meet Saturday

SINCLAIRVILLE – The family history club of the Sinclairville Free Library will meet on Saturday at 10 a.m. Members will share family history and help each other with research. This will be the last meeting until spring due to the health issues of the group leader.

Revolution To Meet Saturday

STOCKTON – The Chautauqua chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will meet Saturday at the Stockton Hotel at 12:30 p.m. Elections will be held for officers for 2024. John Sipos will speak on the history of Thanksgiving. Members will order lunch from the menu. Anyone interested in the war for independence is welcome to attend. Spouses are also welcome.

Sinclairville Library To Host Zentangle Class Saturday

SINCLAIRVILLE – A basic Zentangle class with Brenda Nickerson will be offered at the Sinclairville Free Library on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. All materials will be provided for participants to learn the Zentangle Method of drawing. Zentangle is an easy-to-learn way to create images by drawing structured patterns called tangles. The class is for both beginners and those who are already familiar with the drawing method. The library is located at 15 Main St., Sinclairville. Information about upcoming events is available on the website www.sinclairvillelibrary.org. The library will be closed Friday in honor of Veteran’s Day and will also be closed Nov. 23-25 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

AMVETS Post 726 Auxiliary To Host Dinner

The AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 726 will be hosting a dinner on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m., or until sold out, at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. Proceeds of the dinner will go to support auxiliary programs. In honor of Veterans Day, this dinner is free to any veteran and one guest. The ladies will be serving a choice of two dinners: chicken and biscuits and rigatoni and meat sauce. The meals include a vegetable and dessert, which consists of pumpkin pie or pineapple upside down cake. For non-veterans, the dinner is $12 for adults and $5 for children ages six and under. The dinners may be eaten on site or take-outs are available. The club will have the bar area open at 3 p.m.
