Club To Host Indoor Yard Sale, Basket Raffle

GOWANDA – On Saturday, Nov. 4, the Slovenian Club of Gowanda will hold an indoor yard sale and basket raffle from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the club located at 36 Palmer St. A variety will be available along with refreshments and lunch. Proceeds from the event will benefit the club’s community service projects.

Frewsburg To Hold Special Meeting

FREWSBURG — The Frewsburg Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. The purpose of the meeting is to hold an anticipated executive session to discuss “matters relating to the employment histories of a particular person or persons,” the district said.

Kiwanis Club To Host Election Night Dinner

The Kiwanis Club of Jamestown will host its annual election night spaghetti dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 7. The event will take place at the Salvation Army, 83 S. Main St., Jamestown. Sit-down and take-out service will be available from 4:30-7 p.m. In addition, take-out only options will be available from 4-4:30 p.m. Dinners include spaghetti, meat balls, salad, bread and dessert, as well as a beverage. The cost is $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available from any Kiwanis member, may be reserved by calling 716-450-6874, and will also be available at the door. Proceeds from the event will benefit a variety of local children’s projects.

United Senior Council To

Gather Nov. 9

The United Senior Council of Chautauqua County will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Chautauqua Center, 107 Institute St., Jamestown. The speaker will be Jeanne Wiebenga, who will present a program on ospreys in the area and will share some beautiful photographs. A Christmas party will be held Thursday, Dec. 14. More information will be coming soon.

Ordination

Service To Be Held Nov. 11

The Rev. Heather Allport-Cohoon will be ordained as pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11. The ordination service with communion will be celebrated at First Lutheran Church of Jamestown, 120 Chandler St. There will be a reception at the church immediately afterward. Fellow clergy of any denomination are welcome to vest and process. The color of the day is red. The public is welcome to attend. Allport-Cohoon has also been called to serve two Lutheran churches in Warren, Pa., St. John’s and St. Paul’s.
