JHS PTSO To Host Donation Drive Nov. 7

The Jamestown High School PTSO will host a donation drive-through for the JHS Closet on Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the JHS pool doors. Items needed for the closet are: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, feminine products, new socks, new underwear, leggings, sweatpants, and joggers that are in new, gently used or good condition, school supplies such as pens, pencils, notebooks, and backpacks, and nonperishable food items. Monetary donations can be made as well. Checks should be made out to the “Gotchu Fund,” which helps support educational opportunities for students, such as Advanced Placement exam costs, field trips, and educational camps. The drive will take place in front of the school’s pool doors, and those able to attend are asked to enter the parking lot at the Second Street entrance and exit on Foote Avenue.

The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce is inviting Falconer businesses to participate in a holiday window decorating contest. Registration is due by Nov. 10 at www.chautauquachamber.org. Contest rules can also be found on the chamber website.

Pet Pantry Craft Show Slated

DUNKIRK — The Pet Pantry’s Holiday Craft Show will be on Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds, Ag & Expo Building, 1089 Central Ave., in Dunkirk from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking is free. Admission is $1 and is a donation to The Pet Pantry. There will be 50 handmade only crafters. Items include jewelry to crochet and knit, soaps, lotions and candles, ceramics, textiles, candy, baked goods and fudge and holiday decorations. In addition to shopping, door prizes are featured and lunch will be available.

United Way To Host Curling Fundraiser

The United Way of Southern Chautauqua County will host a Curling Mix & Match fundraiser for its annual campaign from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at the Northwest Arena. For tickets, visit fundraise.givesmart.com/e/y03d6Q. There will be a “total points” curling competition along with the opportunity for beginners to learn the basics of curling. Christmas In Panama Is

Nov. 18

PANAMA – The Panama Methodist Church, 22 Main St., Panama, will host Christmas in Panama from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 18. There will be local vendors, complimentary hot cocoa, lunch available for purchase to support the Panama Methodist Church’s Mission Team, carriage rides from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with Ed Trisket and his team of horses, and an opportunity to give Santa a Christmas list and take a photo from noon to 2 p.m.
