Whiskey Tasting Event Set For Saturday

A first-of-its-kind whiskey tasting event is scheduled for Saturday at the Northwest Arena. Dubbed WTF CHQ by organizers, which stands for the Whiskey Tasting Festival of Chautauqua, this event to be held at Northwest Arena will feature local distilleries as well as brands from Kentucky and other states. A portion of the proceeds slated to go to TheZone at Northwest Arena. This is the first event from new events company CHQ Events. With up to 20 whiskey vendors expected for the event including Breckenridge, Four Roses, Sazerac, Uncle Nearest, Southern Tier, Black Button, 5 & 20, Calumet Farms and more. Library To Host Soul Writing Workshop

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Memorial Library will host a soul writing workshop at 1 p.m. Oct. 28. Soul writing is a process that uses guided meditation with question prompts that help people to get answers, solutions, and direction for their life. The writing process bypasses analytical thinking and opens us up to the inspiration and ideas that appear when people aren’t thinking and when they are in the creative dreaming part of the mind. The instructor, Lisa Margaret has designed and taught group classes on Discover Your Life Purpose and Your Inner Wisdom Guidance System. She is a certified life essentials coach; a two-year intensive from the John F. Kennedy University with a specialization in Shadow Work. She has a Master’s in transpersonal psychology, is a certified emotion code and certified body code practitioner and has a Bachelor’s in holistic wellness with a minor in art therapy.

Trunk-Or-Treat Event Announced In Westfield

WESTFIELD — The West Portland Baptist Church Sunday School, 7081 E. Route 20, Westfield, is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29. The event will include food, games, prizes, crafts, treats and pumpkin decorating.

Randolph School Board To Meet Nov. 1

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, in the high school library. Those who wish to attend are asked to contact Maureen Pitts, district clerk, at 716-358-7005.

CCAF Board To Meet On Nov. 1

The Chautauqua County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board will meet at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1 in Room 331 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville. The meeting is open to the public. The meeting is also available by videoconference.
