Cemetery Clean Up Announced

FALCONER — All summer decorations must be removed from grave sites at Pine Hill Cemetery in Falconer prior to Sunday. Any remaining items will be discarded.

CCLBC To Meet On Wednesday Oct. 11

The Chautauqua County Land Bank Corporation will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, in the county Industrial Development Agency offices, 201 W. Third St., Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

Guest Speaker Series Continues On Wednesday Oct. 11

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Historical Society Guest Speaker Series continues on Wednesday, Oct. 11, as Norman Carlson, collections manager at the Fenton History Center, is welcomed to share information about a local history mystery. Carlson will introduce attendees to details behind the first unsolved murder in Chautauqua County, which is known as the Shearman-Davis murder of 1864. The event is free and open to the public beginning at 7 p.m. at the Bemus Point Village Hall, adjacent to the historical society, on Alburtus Avenue in Bemus Point.

Chaut. Region Quilt Guild To Meet Wednesday Oct. 11

BUSTI — The Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild will meet Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Busti Federated Church which is at the five corners in Busti. Joanne Adams and Marsha Pownell will be having a trunk show for this month’s program. Members are asked to bring the pillowcases they have been making for the Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys and Girls Club. Remember to wash and dry with unscented detergent and softener and iron before placing in a gallon-size recloseable bag indicating that it is washed. Breast Cancer Support Group Selling Pink

Light Bulbs

For Fundraiser

The Breast Cancer Support Group is selling pink light bulbs for its “Turn on the PINK to Black Out Breast Cancer” fundraiser. Bulbs are available at Farm Fresh Foods, Ashville General Store, Dr. Ibabos’ office at 21 Porter Ave., Jamestown; the UPMC Chautauqua mammography department, and Clymer Hardware. Those who want several bulbs can call Pat Carr at 716-490-4545. The next Breast Cancer Support Group meeting will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Honest John’s on East Second St. with the guest speaker a representative from the UPMC Chautauqua mammography department. The public is invited to attend.
