Author Series Continues

BUSTI — The weekly author series at Hazeltine Public Library continues today with an appearance by Steve Sorensen, an award winning author who has written extensively about rural life, hunting ethics, hunting philosophy and conservation. The author series begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Building at the library and is free and open to everyone. The library is located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road, Jamestown. Southern Tier Extension Railroad Authority To Meet
SALAMANCAäThe Southern Tier Extension Railroad Authority will meet today at 9:00 a.m. There will be multiple location options for the meeting: the main conference room in the office of the Southern Tier West Regional Planning Board in the Center for Regional Excellence at 4039 Route 219, Suite 200 in Salamanca; the Office of Development in the City Hall of Olean, 101 East State Street, Room 209, Olean, NY 14760; the second floor conference room at 201 West Third Street, Jamestown, NY 14701; and the small conference room at 6087 Route 19 North, Belmont, NY 14813. Meeting agendas for all STERA Board of Directors and committee meetings, along with all documents to be discussed at the meetings, can be found on the STERA web site, which is www.ccasstera.org. All of these meetings are open to the public. Members of the general public can attend todayás meeting at any of the locations. Girl Scouts Of Western New York Seeks New Members And Volunteers
It’s registration season for the Girl Scouts of Western New York. Troops are forming throughout Western New York, and it’s the perfect time for girls to begin a Girl Scout journey of fun, learning, and adventure.
Girl Scout representatives will on hand to answer questions and register new Girl Scouts at:
–Ahira Hall Memorial Library, 37 W. Main St., Brocton, on Monday, Oct. 2, from 6-7 p.m.;
–Dunkirk Public Library, 536 Central Ave., Dunkirk, Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 6-7 p.m.;
–Panama Rocks Scenic Park, 11 Rock Hill Rd., Panama, on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon;
–Minerva Free Library, 116 Miller St., Sherman, Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 6-7 p.m.
When a girl becomes a Girl Scout, it’s the start of life-long adventure in learning life skills, developing leadership skills, and making friends. Girl Scouts are our next-generation social change makers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
There is also a need for adult volunteers who may be interested in leading or co-leading a troop.
