United Senior Council Gathers Sept. 14
STOW — The United Senior Council of Chautauqua County will meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14, at the North Harmony Senior Center on Stow Road in Stow. Janell Sluga will be the guest speaker. Anyone with questions is asked to contact Ellen Coffaro or Cecile Wilson.
German Settlers To Be Topic At Meeting
CASSADAGA — The next Chautauqua County Genealogical Society meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 20 at the Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280 at 228 Maple Ave. in Cassadaga. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. The speaker at 7 will be local Historian Michelle Henry. Her presentation will be “The Trials and Tribulations of Researching Mina’s German Settlers.” Mina Corners in the Chautauqua County Town of Mina, had a German settlement consisting of several German-Prussian families, arriving in the 1840s. What can historical records prove or disprove about common assumptions relating to this ethnic settlement? Henry will discuss the records found and what she has learned about the various families who settle the area. The public is invited to attend. Mitchell Anderson To Perform At RHJ Center
Actor and restaurateur Mitchell Anderson will perform his one-man show, “You Better Call Your Mother,” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 15-16, at the Robert H. Jackson Center’s Cappa Theatre in Jamestown. “You Better Call Your Mother” is a collection of monologues and songs examining Anderson’s journey. Tickets are available via Brown Paper Tickets: $30 general and $100 VIP.
Church To Hold Fall Rummage Sale
RANDOLPH — East Randolph Methodist Church will hold its fall rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15. The sale continues on Saturday, Sept. 16, with a $1 bag sale from 9 a.m. to noon. Donations may be dropped off at the Fellowship Hall from Sept. 12 to 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
